Introduction
Jonathan developed a passion for pottery at the age of eight whilst boarding at the Dragon School, Oxfordshire (1990-1995.) His love for the subject has grown ever since.
In 2003-2006 he studied ceramics at Camberwell College of Arts.
Jonathan's draws inspiration from the natural world creating balance, order and beauty to stunning sculptural forms which capture the essence of modernisation and progress.
His dynamic sculptures are available to commission as both one-off pieces and limited editions.
Animalia
This series contains both original and slip casted pieces. Through the use of abstract and fluid forms his designs move away from a naturalistic portrayal of animals to representations of strength and beauty.
Vessels
The vessels represent an ever developing series of originals and press molded pieces. The forms were initially inspired by classic Greek amphorae but have since been transformed into modern abstract sculptures. They are intended to evoke the natural pride within courtship rituals in the animal kingdom, with particular reference to birds.
Abstract
These pieces are all original coil-built structures drawing inspiration from the natural world.
